Amy Penne earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is Professor of English in the Department of Humanities at Parkland College, just across town in Champaign, Illinois. She lives in a small town thirty miles south of Champaign, a town she affectionately refers to as Outlet Mall Town. Amy’s husband and two sons keep her grounded and busy. Amy is a writer and teacher, mother and wife, scholar and contemplative. She buys way too many books and literary magazines and is running out of room in her hundred-year old house. Amy’s current addictions include: Shakespeare, Sharon Olds, Elena Passarello, Megan Mayhew Bergman, the 12th-century Life of Christina of Markyate, meditation, and Malcolm Gladwell’s podcast, Revisionist History.
